This is a fantastic new service that Apple has launched, and if you’re currently a paying Apple Music subscriber it’s included in your plan without any additional charges.
I for one have been a paying Apple Music user for a long time, and it’s been high up on my list of subscriptions that I’ve been meaning to cancel. The only reason why I haven’t yet is that there are some old playlists in there, which I haven’t migrated to my preferred music streaming service.
But now, this Classical thing will keep me paying for Apple Music. I’ve explored it a bit and found it a truly great offering. I like classical music, but am not really knowledgeable about it. There’s a few composers and instruments and individual pieces I really love, but discovering more classical music that I love was always difficult. This offering seem to solve this. It’s a bit like sitting at the table with a serious music aficionado who introduces you to something great, can tell you the stories behind the things that resonate with you, make recommendations based on your taste, and even spending just an hour or two with this makes it worth for me to pay for the subscription.
Apple Music Classical is a new app designed to provide a powerful search tool that allows users to explore the world’s largest classical music catalog and find the exact recording they are looking for within seconds. The app is based on Primephonic, a classical music streaming service that Apple acquired in 2021. It is available for use with Apple Music Lossless and supports up to 24bit 192kHz bitrates.
